Taapsee Pannu's 'Dobaaraa' With Anurag Kashyap Sets Theatrical Release Date

Mumbai, May 12 - Talented actress Taapsee Pannu has reunited with renowned director Anurag Kashyap for an edgy thriller, "Dobaaraa", which has been announced to release in theaters on August 19, 2022. ## The movie reunites Taapsee and Anurag Kashyap for the third time after the 2018 hit "Manmarziyaan" and biographical drama "Saand Ki Aankh" (2019), on which he served as producer. The upcoming movie also marks the actress's second collaboration with Pavail Gulati, who previously shared screen space in 2020's "Thappad".## "Dobaaraa" is jointly produced by Ektaa Kapoor's Cult Movies, a new division under her Balaji Telefilms banner, and Sunir Khetarpal's ATHENA. Anurag Kashyap And Taapsee Pannu To Reunite For A Thriller Film 'Dobaaraa'

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and actress Taapsee Pannu have collaborated again for a new age thriller film, titled "Dobaaraa". It will be produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, Sunir Kheterpal, and Gaurav Bose. Dobaaraa will be Kashyap and Pannu's third collaboration after 2018's hit "Manmarziyaan" and biographical drama "Saand Ki Aankh", which had Kashyap on board as producer and costarred Bhumi Pednekar. ## Watch movie announcement teaser## ## "Our vision with 'Dobara' is to bring a fresh, new story to the audience and I am very excited for it. This will be my third collaboration with Taapsee and this time the attempt is to bring an interesting new take on thrillers", Kashyap said in a statement. Taapsee said she has always enjoyed working on thrillers and with Kashyap and Ekta Kapoor behind the camera, she is all geared up for the "unique" experience.## "I have been very lucky with thriller genre in my career so far, and I always look forward to pushing the envelope under this genre. This is going to be unique more so because it’s got someone like Anurag directing it and Ekta backing it", Pannu said.## Ekta Kapoor, who is producing the movie under Cult Movies which is a new division under her Balaji Telefilms banner, said she is excited to collaborate with artists willing to push boundaries. ## "I am thrilled that Anurag is directing the first film under Cult Movies, with Taapsee in the lead.
