Mumbai, April 6 - Illumination and Universal's The Super Mario Galaxy Movie off to a thunderous start at the global box office, delivering the biggest opening weekend of 2026 (so far) with a mighty $372.50 million, slightly short of its predecessor, 2023's The Super Mario Bros. Movie's $387.80 million launch. The video game adventure animated blockbuster scored a huge $190.10 million over its 5-day opening weekend at the domestic (North America) box office, the biggest opening of 2026, and the third biggest of all-time for an animated title. The first film debuted with $204.6 million.
