Record Viewership For Yash's 'Toxic' First Look Glimpse
Bengaluru, January 9 - After scripting history 3 years ago with KGF: Chapter 2, Kannada superstar Yash will return to the big screen with gangster action drama Toxic - A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, directed by national award-winning director Geetu Mohandas.

Produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic is currently being wrapped and is expected to be released in December this year. Meanwhile, the makers of the film treated fans with the first look glimpse on the occasion of Yash's birthday on January 8.

While the first look glimpse didn't reveal much about the plot, it has helped raise the buzz after the blockbuster response on social media. The look of Yash, which is very similar to his widely popular Rocky Bhai in KGF, and the background music have increased expectations.

On YouTube, the blockbuster Glimpse scored a huge 36+ million views in the first 24 hours which is said to be the highest for an Indian film first Look Glimpse on a single channel. The previous highest was Pushpa 2 which generated 27.65 million views for the Hindi version.

Toxic is said to be based on the backdrop of a drug mafia in Goa. It also stars Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, and Huma Qureshi, among others in prominent roles. The movie will be released in multiple languages, including Hindi.

Yash's Toxic Release Date To Be Rescheduled; Makers Reveal Reason

BY SACNILK

Bengaluru, April 29 - Superstar Yash-fronted much-anticipated action drama Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has officially been postponed from its previously announced release date. The makers confirmed that the film will no longer arrive in theatres on June 4, opting instead for a later, globally aligned release window. The movie is directed by Geethu Mohandas and also stars Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria, among others in key roles. Film Complete, But Release Strategy Reworked In a heartfelt note shared by the team, it was revealed that Toxic is already complete. However, the decision to delay the release stems from a larger vision - ensuring the film reaches its full potential on a global scale. The statement highlights that after presenting the film at CinemaCon and witnessing an overwhelming international response, the team felt confident that the film deserved a wider and more impactful worldwide rollout. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Focus on Global Distribution & Partnerships The makers are currently working on aligning international distribution and strategic partnerships, which requires additional time. Instead of rushing the release, the team has chosen to recalibrate the timeline to ensure a synchronised global launch. This approach signals a growing trend in Indian cinema - films being positioned not just for domestic success but as global cinematic events. Yash, who is also involved as a producer, emphasised the importance of patience and responsibility during this phase. In the note, he expressed his commitment to delivering a film that stands as a proud moment for Indian cinema on the world stage. He acknowledged the unwavering support of fans and assured them that the delay is aimed at enhancing the overall impact of the film. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Not a Setback, But a Strategic Move This isn't the first time Toxic has been delayed. The movie was earlier scheduled for March 19 but was pushed to June due to external factors, like global uncertainties, that affected its schedule. However, the current postponement is purely strategic, with the goal of maximising reach, scale, and audience experience. While a new release date is yet to be announced, the makers have confirmed that Toxic will hit theatres soon across the world. Given the scale and ambition behind the project, expectations are now even higher for what could be one of the biggest Indian releases on the global stage. The makers of Ramayana, one of the most eagerly awaited films of 2026, have achieved another major promotional milestone ahead of its grand theatrical launch. A new promotional asset titled Rama — a fresh cinematic glimpse from the epic retelling — has secured a U certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), clearing it for audiences of all ages. According to the CBFC certification, the Rama asset has a runtime of 158 seconds, or 2 minutes and 38 seconds, offering a glimpse of the characters and visual tone of the film ahead of its official release. The certification was granted on March 30, 2026, and the makers have scheduled the official unveiling of the asset on Thursday, April 2, to coincide with Hanuman Jayanti, a culturally significant occasion associated with the epic's narrative. In a recent international promotional move, Ranbir Kapoor, director Nitesh Tiwari, and producer Namit Malhotra were spotted at a special IMAX screening event in Los Angeles, California, where they showcased early visuals from Ramayana to a select audience ahead of the global release of the teaser. The screening generated enthusiastic reactions and offered glimpses of the film's scale and immersive presentation well before the official April 2 launch. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The Rama glimpse is expected to introduce key characters of the film, including Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. Sources close to the project suggest that the asset emphasizes character presence and emotional depth rather than large-scale action sequences. Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, has been building anticipation since the release of its introductory video on July 3, 2025, more than a year before the film's scheduled release. The music is composed by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer. The film is a two-part adaptation of the ancient Indian epic, with the first part set to release on Diwali 2026 and the second part on Diwali 2027, marking it as one of the most ambitious ventures in contemporary Bollywood cinema. Releasing the Rama asset on Hanuman Jayanti adds cultural resonance to the marketing strategy, linking the teaser to themes of devotion and heroism. With audiences already highly engaged with the film's promotional content, the April 2 release of the glimpse is expected to generate significant buzz across social media and fan communities, further amplifying anticipation for Ramayana's theatrical journey.
